Do
you have a favorite place or a valued memory from a national park or wilderness
area? Consider commissioning me to do a painting for you.
Most of my “painting
time” is, in fact, devoted to commissioned work. I welcome both the
challenge of each of these painting endeavors, and, the opportunity to
meet and work with my customers. My commissions start at $2,000 (unframed--approximate:
28" x 20" image). And, whil e I do ask for a 20% "deposit
of good faith", I do guarantee total satisfaction with the “end result”.
I would not want anyone to have a painting that they are not happy with!
That being said,
I do limit my painting themes to those relating to what you can view on
this web site: national parks, wilderness areas, shore scenes, etc.
I would rather not paint Uncle Bob’s 1960 Corvette, for instance.
It may be an interesting challenge, but it would not fit in with my other
artwork, nor likely appeal to my other customers.
The
process is easy. Generally, people tell me of a particular place
(peak, lake, stream, etc.) that they would like to have a painting of.
Sometimes, they have their own photographs that I can view. Often,
I have my own photos and painting materials that I can use. Or, as
I travel fairly extensively, often I will be “in the neighborhood” of a
particular place, in the near future. Regardless,
after reviewing your request and/or the painting materials, I would present
you with my idea, a firm price, and a firm completion date. Upon
acceptance of my proposal, I would ask for the 20% deposit and I would
set aside the time to complete the painting.
Each painting is
different. Watercolors have a mind of their own, of sorts.
I am confident, however, that if you enjoy my style of painting, I can
complete a commissioned painting for you, to "your liking". I have
been doing so, since 1982.
If you have an idea,
please contact me.
